S640 Graphics Tablet with 6x4 Inch Active Area and Battery-Free Pen

The S640 graphics drawing tablet is a compact USB tablet for drawing, writing, annotating, and navigating on a compatible Windows or Mac computer. It uses electromagnetic pressure induction with 8192 pressure levels, so the supplied P06 passive pen can respond to different stroke weights without needing a battery or charging cable. The 6x4 inch active area gives enough room for detailed sketches, notes, and everyday creative work, while the 5080 LPI resolution and 230 RPS report rate support smooth tracking of pen movement. The black body measures 218 x 130 x 9mm and weighs 177g, making it easy to carry in a laptop case or briefcase. It connects by USB and includes a 150 cm cable, a pen pocket, eight feathers, a removal tool, a quick start guide, and a driver download reminder.

Features and Construction

The tablet is built around an electromagnetic digitizer rather than a battery-powered stylus. This affects how you use it day to day: the pen does not need charging, so you can pick it up and continue working. The specification includes 8192 pressure levels, 5080 LPI resolution, 230 RPS report rate, and a 10mm reading height. These figures describe the input performance stated for the model and help explain its suitability for drawing, writing, and software navigation.

Material and Build

The S640 uses a P06 passive pen with no battery required and no charge needed. The tablet body is black and measures 218 x 130 x 9mm, with a thinnest section of 3mm. It weighs 177g. The package includes a USB cable measuring 150 cm, plus a pen pocket for storing the stylus. The source describes some smart chips and a high quality screen, and the stated resolution is 5080 LPI. These details relate to the tablet's construction and pen input rather than to any additional accessories.

Size and Practical Fit

The active zone measures 6x4 inches, which is a compact working area for a desk or laptop bag. The overall tablet dimensions are 218 x 130 x 9mm, so it takes up limited space compared with larger drawing surfaces. The 177g weight and 3mm thinnest section make it practical to carry in a laptop case or briefcase. Manual measurement may vary by 1 to 3mm, so the stated dimensions should be treated as approximate.

Uses and Placement

The S640 is intended for computer-based drawing and writing with compatible Windows and Mac systems. It works with software including Corel Painter, Photoshop, Illustrator, Cartoon Studio, Manga Studio, and Clip Studio. The USB interface and 150 cm cable allow connection to a desktop or laptop, while the compact size suits a home desk, studio workspace, or temporary setup.

Event or Professional Use

For creative software work, the 8192 pressure levels and 230 RPS report rate are stated to capture light and fast pen strokes. The 5080 LPI resolution is intended to support image detail, and the 6x4 inch active area is suitable for sketching, retouching, and annotation. The passive pen does not require charging, which can be useful during longer sessions where you do not want to stop for a battery recharge. The package includes a removal tool and eight feathers, along with the tablet, pen, pen pocket, USB cable, quick start guide, and driver download reminder.

Everyday Home Use

At home, the S640 can be used for writing, drawing, and navigating compatible software on a Windows or Mac computer. The black finish and compact dimensions make it straightforward to store when not in use. The pen pocket helps keep the passive pen with the tablet, and the 150 cm USB cable provides some flexibility in placement. Because the pen has no battery, there is no charging routine to remember for the stylus itself.

Benefits and Buying Value

The main practical value of the S640 comes from its battery-free pen, stated pressure sensitivity, and compact USB format. It is designed for users who want a small drawing tablet for compatible Windows or Mac systems without a rechargeable stylus. The included accessories support immediate setup, and the stated compatibility with common creative applications gives a clear idea of where the tablet can be used.

Reuse and Low Maintenance

The passive pen requires no battery and no charging, which simplifies storage and daily use. The pen pocket provides a dedicated place for the stylus when the tablet is not in use. The USB cable is 150 cm, so it can remain connected to a computer during a session. The source does not provide detailed care instructions beyond these supplied items, so keeping the tablet and pen dry and storing the pen in the pocket are sensible low-risk habits.
